The mad ones · Est. 2022

Meet the
ringmasters.

Some people run away to join the circus. These two were crazy enough to create one of their own.

A little eccentric, a little delusional, and wildly passionate about bringing something extraordinary to life. Every circus needs its ringmasters. Ours just happened to be two women with big dreams, bold ideas, and absolutely no concept of keeping things simple.

The two founders dressed as ringmasters, in top hats and tailcoats with canes

How it started

Two shows, one big top.

Two events that grew up side by side, and now share one stage, two days and one goal: to put the spotlight on New Zealand’s lash and brow industry.

A test-your-strength striker with five labelled levels: Ringmaster at the bell, then Headliner, Spotlight, Marquee and Award Act

Act I · Est. 2022

The Conference

The Aotearoa Lash Conference began in Rotorua in 2022: a day of learning for lash and brow artists from around the country. 2027 is year six.

Act II · Est. 2023

The Awards

The Lash Industry Awards joined the conference in Auckland in 2023, so the industry had a night to celebrate its own. 2027 is year five.

The Live

After many years of requests, we’re bringing a live lash and brow competition to the stage on Friday 10 September 2027.

And a third act joins the show

There's a seat for everyone under our big top. Come and learn at the Conference, put your work in front of the judges, cheer on the artists competing live, or bring your brand along for the ride. However you join us, you'll be part of the biggest few days on the lash and brow calendar.

Our purpose

Clap for each other.

Everything we do has grown from the ground up. Each year we listen to what artists, educators and salon owners tell us, and we shape the next event around it. That’s how one conference in Rotorua became two days, three events and a live competition.

We listen

Shaped by you

Your feedback decides what changes each year, from the speakers we book to the categories we run.

Here and overseas

Local voices, world techniques

We put Aotearoa voices on our stage and bring in methods and educators from overseas, so you can learn from the best without leaving home.

A different kind of competition

Room for everyone

You can go after a title and still cheer for the person next to you. Being recognised and backing each other aren’t opposites.

Meet the founders

The two of us.

Two lash artists who wanted the industry to have a place to learn, be seen and celebrate together.
